Eggnog Latte
Ingredients
6 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1/4 cup sugar
6 cups milk (your choice of milk)
2 tablespoons instant espresso coffee powder or instant coffee powder
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Whipped cream (optional)
Shaved chocolate (optional)
Instructions
In large, heavy saucepan whisk together egg yolks and sugar. *If you would like to use store bought eggnog skip step 1.
Whisk in milk, espresso powder and nutmeg. Cook, whisking frequently, over medium heat until mixture registers 175°F on instant read thermometer (mixture will just coat a metal spoon). Do not boil. Remove from heat.
Briskly whisk or use an immersion blender to froth milk mixture.
Ladle into mugs. If desired, top with whipped cream and shaved chocolate.
